Welcome to PacketRiser Labs
I'm George Patterson. For the past 20+ years, I've worked at the intersection of hands-on engineering and organizational leadership; building systems that scale from millions to billions of daily queries, designing network footprints across multiple continents, and leading teams through cloud migrations, platform rebuilds, and AI adoption.
I started PacketRiser Labs as a place to document what I'm learning, what I'm breaking, and what I'm building in public. The experiments here span cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, edge networking, computer vision AI-integrated SDLC, HPC, autonomous systems, OSINT and whatever else piques my interest at the moment.
This isn't theory. These are proof of concepts and prototypes I've shipped as part of my research, curiosity, and ambition to build great products.
What You'll Find Here
Fractional Engineering Work
When companies reach a growth stage where they need deep technical leadership but aren't ready for a full-time Principal/Director/VP/CTO hire, that's where fractional engagement fits. Strategic vision, architecture, engineering scaling, and force-multiplier delivery execution — 10–15 hours per week focused on your priorities, scaling up or down as needs change. Acts as a stability bridge while you search for permanent leadership, leaving teams stronger through documented frameworks and upskilled engineers.
Experiments & Prototypes
I build rapidly across AI, computer vision, OSINT, and infrastructure. Real projects documented here: cloud cost teardowns, AI models and workflow implementations, computer vision, proof-of-concepts, platform patterns, HPC clusters. Some succeed. Others teach me what not to do next time.
Ventures & Partnerships
I remain open to co-founder roles, founding team positions, and business ventures — especially around autonomous systems, energy infrastructure, edge computing, and AI. If you're building something ambitious and need technical partnership, let's talk.
